- provide a refresher on the key consumer laws that HE providers will need to comply with (including the adjustments made following the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (“DMCC”)
- provide any relevant updates to the consumer law regime
- discuss some of the common pitfalls HE providers can face across the student lifecycle
- explore some practical approaches that HE providers should consider to demonstrate compliance with the consumer law framework, including in relation to the OfS’ new initial Condition C5 for new providers
- provide some practical tips to mitigate the risk of, and manage student claims and complaints to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA), particularly in franchise situations and where there are course changes or cancellation
